Vapora Releases Hologram Plaza 2.1

An empty pastel mall lobby and circular fountain at twilight.

Vapora returns to the plaza with Hologram Plaza 2.1, a seven-track album released today through Vaporsoft Records. Electronic music, vaporwave, and mallsoft remain at the center, but the track titles bring the quieter, emptier corners of this imagined environment into view.

“There’s Nobody Here (Intro)” opens the sequence. “Eerie Vacancy” and “An Empty Lobby” follow, placing absence at the front of the release’s visual language. Where Hologram Plaza 2 mapped shops, kiosks, and an arcade, this installment suggests a visit when the usual activity has slipped away. The setting remains recognizable, but the perspective changes.

“Endless Interlude (Intermission)” gives the middle of the tracklist a pause, followed by “Fountain” and “Disconscious.” The closing “One Last Look (Outro)” reinforces the sense of a brief return to a place that invites lingering attention. These names supply a framework for the album’s nostalgic, liminal, and retro mood without prescribing a single interpretation for the listener.

The quieter perspective also connects to Disconscious, a major influence on Vapora whose mallsoft classic Hologram Plaza helped inspire his first release, Dystopia. That connection brings another dimension to Hologram Plaza 2.1’s vacant lobbies and lingering impressions: familiar spaces can carry a mood even when their usual activity is absent. The tracklist includes “Disconscious,” placing the name of that early influence within the album itself. Across this shorter visit, the emphasis falls on the spaces between destinations, giving Vapora’s plaza world a more withdrawn point of view.

The project was developed between August 2016 and January 2017, following Hologram Plaza 2’s January–June 2016 production period. Their different sequences give each release a separate identity. Hologram Plaza 2.1 offers another angle on Vapora’s retail-space world, continuing the catalog’s exploration of music as atmosphere and imagined place.
