Vapora Releases Hologram Plaza 3.1

An empty curved arcade corridor glowing pink and cyan.

Hologram Plaza 3.1 is available today through Vaporsoft Records. Vapora’s seven-track release continues the electronic, vaporwave, and mallsoft world of the Hologram Plaza series, bringing another collection of nostalgic retail imagery into the catalog.

The opening titles speak in the language of shopping announcements: “Shopping Spree Sweepstakes,” “Everything Must Go,” and “Attention Shoppers!” Their familiarity becomes part of the setting. These are phrases associated with ordinary commercial activity, placed here within a release whose moods are nostalgic, liminal, and retro. The effect of the track names is to suggest a recognizable environment with room for more uncertain associations.

The sequence then moves into “The Lobby” and “Carousel Center,” before ending with “Just Browsing” and “Still Browsing.” That final pair gives the album an unhurried point of departure. Rather than mapping a destination outside the plaza, the titles stay with the act of looking around, allowing the release’s world to remain open at its edges.

This installment also looks back toward a formative connection in Vapora’s catalog. Disconscious’s Hologram Plaza was a major influence and helped inspire Dystopia, the first Vapora release. That mallsoft classic remains an important reference point for a series that finds atmosphere in ordinary commercial surroundings. Here, shopping announcements and the repeated act of browsing offer another perspective on that setting. Hologram Plaza 3.1 continues the conversation through Vapora’s own sequence and presentation, linking an early inspiration to a creative world that now holds several different visits.

Developed between June and September 2019, Hologram Plaza 3.1 shares a production period with Hologram Plaza 3. The connection makes it another perspective on that chapter of Vapora’s work, while the shorter seven-track sequence gives it its own shape. With this release, the series continues to turn everyday spaces and familiar phrases into an electronic setting. The album page contains the complete tracklist, artwork, and streaming links.
